Dr. Oleksiy Ryabchyn is a Ukrainian politician from Donetsk region. Oleksiy holds a PhD in Economics from Donetsk National University, Ukraine and an MSc in Innovation and Sustainability for International Development, SPRU, University of Sussex, UK.
In 2014 he was elected to the Verkhovna Rada (Parliament of Ukraine) on the party list of Batkivshchyna. He chairs the subcommittee on Energy Efficiency of the Energy Committee.
Alex represented Ukraine in Conferences of the Parties to the UNFCCC in Paris, Marrakesh and Bonn. He is a permanent negotiator with Energy Community on the issues of energy efficiency. He is focused on promoting green economy, renewables, fighting climate change as well as and supporting 17 displaced universities that fled from Donbas and Crimea because of a military conflict.
He co-chairs the “Green power shift” inter-factional caucus aimed at awareness raising and enforcing the political discourse on the sustainable development and green agenda.
